Description
The family company Alessi, founded in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi in Piedmont, Italy, produces very special designer pieces, primarily made of metal. Modern progress, the needs of their customers and the desire for practical art objects prompted the Alessi family to produce innovative design ideas in industrial series production. The result: high-quality handcrafted objects for kitchen and bathroom needs – from table service to pendant lights to lemon squeezers. Alessi sees itself as a test laboratory for well-known designers, is firmly rooted in its traditions and wants to combine functionality with poetry and art. The designer Jasper Morrison The style of the English designer Jasper Morrison is characterized by minimalist and elegant restraint. He himself wants to step into the background and let his works speak for themselves by reducing them to essential functionality. His renowned design studio has received several awards for its work for Alessi, Vitra and Flos, among others. His former students include today’s recognized industrial designers such as Hella Jongerius and the Bouroullec brothers.
