Inspired by the passion for wine of Alberto Alessi, founder of “La signora Eugenia e il passero solitario” (Lady Eugenia and the Lonely Sparrow), whose products are presented in bottles with a design by Leonardo da Vinci, this set pays tribute to this tradition.

The design by Naoto Fukasawa is based on the iconic shape of the wine bottle and presents a set with a clean and minimalist design. The outstanding feature of the entire set is the obtuse angle, called “Donkaku” in Japanese .

The marriage of tradition and modernity is reflected in every element of this set. Each glass, carafe and decanter is masterfully designed to enhance the wine drinking and tasting experience and maximize aesthetic enjoyment.

“The Eugenia series of glasses was designed after I became familiar with Alberto Alessi’s wine. His wine bottle was influenced by Leonardo da Vinci’s glass flask. I visited Alberto many times and drank his wine to enjoy life. One day I had the idea of ​​designing wine glasses for his wine. The design is a simple trapezoid, a conical shape, to which a strong feature was added at the lip edge. When the lips touch the glass, you can feel the obtuse angle, a simple but quite unique detail . When developing the shape and size, Alessi consulted with a professional wine master to check the size and all the details and test the drinking experience.
